District 1 High School Rodeo Page

Please refer here for updates and all important information pertaining to our district rodeo's. Please feel free to reach out to your District Secretary Susan at 403.805.7662 for any questions or concerns.   • Members are responsible to follow all rules and policies set out by AHSRA
  • Members must sell raffle tickets and have them handed in by April 1st, 2021
  • Members must have a signed rodeo release form in order to compete at a rodeo
  • Members need to know entry deadlines, no late entry is ever taken
  • Members need to know turnout policies, you will be fined if you do not turn out properly
 
Social Distancing Rules will be in place at all Rodeos. Please be respectful.

TURN OUT POLICY - 

Refer to full policy as noted on Page 12 and 13 of the Policies and Procedure Manual found on the AHSRA website.
Turnouts must be notified to d1ahsrasec@gmail.com  Subject line to show:  Turnout - contestant name/number
Turnouts before the 48 hour prior to start of rodeo weekend are not subject to fines.  Less than 48 hours notice are subject to a fine (except vet out / medical out).

2020/2021 SEASON RODEO DATES:

 
  • Taber Rodeo - September 19th & 20th
    • Taber Agri-Plex  - 6602 53rd Street
    • Mandatory Meeting - Saturday 1:30 in stands - roll call, bring your parents
    • Saturday, September 19th - Start time @ 2:00pm; and
    • Sunday, September 20th - Start time @ 9:00am
    • Entries open August 29th and Call in Entries are September 8th
    • Order of go:   Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Poles, Tie Down, Breakaway, Steer Wrestling, Goat Tying, Team Roping, Barrels; then second go of roughstock
    • Stalling
      • Indoor or Outdoor Pens 
      • $30/night or $50 for 2 nights
      • Self penning allowed

    • Camping
      • Power & water hookups available for $20/night
      • Pasture is dry camping but free as long as you clean up manure  
    • Host Hotel
      • Econolodge Taber
    • Call in day to change or add entries is Tuesday, September 8th
    • Turnout deadline is Thursday, September 17th - 2pm
 
  • Vauxhall Rodeo - September 26th & 27th
    • Directions to Vauxhall Rodeo Grounds 
      • From Highway 36 turn East on Township Rd 131A. Turn South onto Road sign 161 then Turn west at the deadend road into the grounds
    • Saturday, September 26th - start time 2:00pm and Sunday, September 27th start time @9:00am
    • Roughstock to be held on Saturday at the beginning and end of the rodeo
    • Entries open September 5th and Call in Entries are September 15th
    • No Stalls available but Self penning is allowed
    • Camping 
      • Dry camping and Free
    • Will be hosting a fun Parent & Child Team Roping Jackpot (More details to come)

  • Roughstock on Saturday at begining and end of performance
  • Entries open SEP 12th  and Call in Entries are SEP 22nd
  • Stalling 
    • Box stalls available $30 /night or $50/weekend 
      • There will be $40 down deposit on stalls. PLease leave a cheque at the rodeo office.
      • All stalls are to be cleaned out when you leave or else you will not get deposit back.
      • 1 bag of shavings comes with stall. More shavings available to purchase on site.
    • Outdoor pens available for $20/night 
    • If you end up self penning there will be a $25 per horse  charge for the weekend.

  • Camping - dry camping and is free, but please clean up after yourselves

    • Friday, October 16th - Rodeo - Start time - immediately following Junior, but not before @ 6:00 pm; and
    • Saturday, October 17th - Rodeo - Start time - immediately following Junior, but not before 1:00 pm 
    • Stalling:
      • Box stalls available $25/stall
      • There is no outside penning unless all stalls are full and then the self penning is in DESIGNATED ares only.
