This event takes place immediately before the Canadian High School Finals and gives contestants a last chance to earn a qualifying spot into the Canadian Finals. Entries are open to all contestants to compete in their events, and the top 2 in each event secure invitations to compete at the Canadian High School Finals Rodeo.

Together, we’re showcasing the future of rodeo, fostering youth excellence, and welcoming families, sponsors, and spectators from across the country.
The CHSFR represents the pinnacle of youth rodeo in Canada. This championship brings together the top Junior High and High School athletes from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario — all competing for national titles. AHSRA Class of 2026 🎓
Grace Hansen
School: Redwater School
AHSRA Rodeo District: District 2
Years with AHSRA: 4 years
Events: Barrel Racing, Pole Bending
Favourite rodeo memory:
Winning the pole bending average at the Ponoka Black Elk Fall Rodeo in 2025 with the horse I patterned myself.
Plans after high school:
Attend Concordia University of Edmonton for an arts degree in psychology, then attend the University of Alberta to pursue a PhD in law. I plan to continue my passion for rodeo alongside the amazing people I’ve met through the AHSRA.
Fun fact:
I have ridden horses my entire life but was terrified to go faster than a slow jog. I didn’t lope a horse until I was twelve.

Announcing the AHSRA Class of 2026 🎓
Over the coming weeks, the Alberta High School Rodeo Association will be celebrating our Class of 2026 graduating members.
Some of these graduates have grown up in our arenas — we’ve watched them learn, fall, get back up, and grow into confident young athletes and leaders. Others may have joined us more recently, bringing their own passion and dedication to our association. No matter how long they’ve been with us, each graduate has earned their place here, and we are incredibly proud of every one of them.
These young people have balanced school, family, livestock, travel, and competition, all while representing the values rodeo teaches — hard work, responsibility, resilience, and respect. Every Grade 12 member of the AHSRA who has fulfilled their membership obligations is eligible for AHSRA scholarships, recognizing their commitment to both their education and the cowboy way of life.
This Graduate Spotlight Series is our way of celebrating our graduates and honouring the journey that brought them here, as well as the values they will carry forward.
📣 A note for graduates:
If you are a 2026 graduate and a member of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association and did not receive an email from your District Secretary regarding this campaign, please contact us at:
📧 ahsrapublicrelations@gmail.com
We want to ensure every graduate has the opportunity to be included.
🤍 Join us as we celebrate the AHSRA Class of 2026.
