As a family, be prepared to make a decision about Nationals if you qualify. This year the National Junior High Finals is held in Des Moines, Iowa from June 23-29.

  • The top 4 in each event will qualify for Nationals – if you choose not to go, we will roll up the next contestant. Roll ups can be to 8th place.
  • The decision to attend Nationals must be made on Sunday, along with all paperwork and payment. Accepted forms of payment are Cash, Cheque or Etransfer to ahsraoffice@gmail.com. There will also be an ATM on site.
  • The NJHFR Contestant Entry Form must be signed by both parents with a Commissioner of Oaths (we will have a Commissioner at the rodeo on Sunday). If one parent will not be at the finals, you need to get the form signed in advance.
  • Please review the price sheet for Nationals – stalls, camping, golf cart rental, etc.
  • National Qualifier Jackets must also be purchased on Sunday. **If you or your siblings have Nationals jackets, especially larger ones, please bring them to the finals (upstairs on Sunday) – this will help others choose the correct size.**
  • If you are camping at Nationals, you will need to provide the following details:
    • Length of Trailer (include hitch, bumper, and anything on the back)
    • Number of slide outs and which side
    • Type of Vehicle and length
    • They have 30 amp sites so be prepared for that.
    • Campsites range in size, the grounds are uneven and you will need blocks to level your trailer.

There is a lot of information about Nationals – all qualifiers receive a package with everything you need but you can also find most of the information on the NSHRA Website.

Best of luck to all contestants! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pam Golden, Provincial Secretary at 780-305-9640 or ahsraoffice@gmail.com.
